Diamond Defense just got a new home!
Come by and check out our newly opened studio in Midtown Sacramento at:
1422 28th St., Suite B.
(28th between O & N St.)
Now an authorized SABRE dealer, we've also got you covered for personal safety tools!
On the Diamond Defense Podcast, co-hosted by Lisa Thew and Kellie Yvonne Raines, we're going to be talking all things women's safety and self-defense. We'll be offering tips, tricks, & strategies for staying safe out there. Plus we'll also be hearing from a lot of ladies who, maybe just like you, have a story to tell that could help keep someone else safer.
Our first episode "Awareness" addresses our very first line of self-defense, our instincts, and delivers some truly impactful stories that pack a punch we can all learn from.
In Episode 2, "Confidence," we talked about why confidence is actually a form of self-defense, and how it can deter predators. Our guest storyteller, Kelley, recounts a very scary experience in Chicago where she had to muster up all her confidence to stay safe.
Episode 3: "Destination" is now available! We get into why destination matters and how it affects our likelihood of being targeted for attack. Guest storyteller, Jessica, shares some disturbing experiences of being followed in Paris, why she trusted her gut, and how she used her voice to be her own hero.
At Diamond Defense, we believe women, girls, and vulnerable communities deserve a safe space to explore every aspect of personal safety—from prevention and risk awareness to survivor support and physical self-defense.
In a world where violence is too often normalized and women are disproportionately targeted, finding a secure, judgment-free environment for this work is vital. Diamond Defense provides exactly that: a place where women can learn, share, and grow in confidence without fear of intimidation or harm.
Our programs combine prevention strategies, practical defense skills, and access to personal safety tools, supported by a strong community network. Whether at our new Midtown Sacramento studio or through the Diamond Defense podcast, we offer resources, training, and connection to help women protect themselves, support one another, and build lasting empowerment.
At Diamond Defense, we believe that self-defense training for women is not just about physical techniques, but also about mental and emotional awareness. We teach our students to be mindful, confident, and aware so that they're able to avoid becoming targeted in the first place.
Rooted in R.A.D. and influenced by Hapkido, our physical self-defense training is meant to prepare you to defend against abductive attempts. We focus on practical techniques that are easy to learn and remember, and that can be adapted to a variety of different situations.
Every woman, no matter her age, ability or fitness level, has options she can use in her self-defense. We help you discover which options work best for you. Our classes are an empowering and supportive environment where we come together to learn the skills that could save our lives. Our physical defense training is appropriate for all bodies, abilities, and ages 12+.
Ever wonder what empowerment through self-defense training feels like? See what these students had to say about their experience before and after taking a Defense One course.
