Owner/Instructor Lisa Thew
Lisa is a R.A.D. Systems-certified instructor and a Hapkido martial artist. She founded Diamond Defense in 2009 to help empower women and girls in the NorCal region through more accessible self-defense training.
Originally from Nebraska, Lisa attended DePaul University in Chicago, and was certified in R.A.D. while she was living in Houston, Texas. She loves NorCal!
The Training

Our Risk Awareness training is derived from the R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense, and if utilized, can help prevent us from becoming targeted in the first place.
The physical defense techniques are rooted in R.A.D., and influenced by Hapkido. The techniques are specifically designed to utilize the innate strengths of the female body, and can be used by women of all ages, shapes, and abilities.
